    SMS response marketing is a system that allows customers to text in from their mobile phones, to a short code number with a keyword, enquiring about a company's services, products or promotions.

  • What is a short code?

    A short code is a 5 digit number used to receive SMS [texts], and in some cases MMS [picture messages] from mobile phones.

  • What is a keyword?

    A keyword is a word that the company chooses, either the company name, initials or something that describes their product, service or promotion, and that the enquirer texts into the short code number.

  • What format must the keyword be in?

    The keyword can be any combination of letters and numbers as long as there are no spaces between the characters.

  • Why do potential customers text in?

    They are responding to a company's advertising campaigns, either in the media, such as TV, Radio or Newspapers, or alternatively Billboards, fliers, vechile graphics and business cards.

  • What do customers text in?

    Customers can text your keyword as the first word of their message to 65000. Your publicity will read something like "text keyword to 65000". Users can add a message if they wish as long as the total message is less than 160 characters in total.

  • How do the customers enquiries reach the company?

    The enquiries come in immediately and are routed to either a company email, company mobile, business system via a http post, or all three.

  • What happens if my text bundle runs out and I get messages in which need responses?

    We will inform you in advance when the number of texts you have available gets low by email or by text. Any text automated responses messages that can't be sent because you have no texts in your account will be not be sent.

  • Do I need programming or specialist knowledge to set this up?

    No that's the beauty of this system, you need no specialist knowledge or technical investment to start offering text services to your customers.

  • Is it possible to use the mobile numbers that I collect for marketing purposes in the future?

    Yes! You must inform customers of your intention to do this on any print or broadcast advertising.
